Creative Film Making
I am developing my career as a film Director, Producer & Editor. I generally work with limited budgets and so have become adept at managing all aspects of the film making process.
This includes auditioning and selecting actors and extras, sourcing and preparing costumes and make-up and managing filming, lighting and sound. Post filming, I edit both the sound and vision to produce high quality output.
What made you want to be a filmmaker/Director?
I’ve made films for as long as I can remember. It’s a profession where there are no limits to what can be produced. If you can imagine it, it’s possible to create it!
What do you love about filmmaking?
Filmmaking is a passion for me. I enjoy every aspect of it and I’m also fortunate to live in an age when the technology available means any idea can be brought to life.
What were the biggest challenges in making a film like Home Fires?
Trying to replicate the scale of the conflict on a limited budget. Determining the best use of footage: some good scenes had to be cut, due to the film length, context or budget.
What type of films do you like making?
Anything on a grand scale, I love the challenge!
Are their particular Directors whose work has influenced your own?
Yes, there are a number; Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson & Frank Darabont. Whenever possible I review their behind the scenes edits.
If you could work with one Director, who would it be?
Steven Spielberg
What particular aspect of filmmaking do you most enjoy?
I most enjoy directing films – a day on set with all of it’s challenges I thoroughly enjoy.
